Abstract

Body dysmorphic Aisorder(BDD, dysmorphophobia), which refers to a subjective feeling of ugliness in a person with normal appearance, has been included in major psychiatric diagnostic systems since 1987. The purpose of this review is to evaluate the issues related to the clinical signs, symptoms, progression, prognosis of BDD. The patients with BDD should get proper treatment, even .if they show strong resistance about it, because BDD has a high risk of progressing into schizophrenia. The patients with BDD can get help from liason psychiatry service.
